Prof. Michel Bitbol (M.D, Ph.D) concludes three-day talk series on Modern Science and Buddhism

6 – 8 January, 2020: Three days talk series on various topics related to science, organized by Library of Tibetan Works and Archives was successfully concluded on January 8, 2020. On the first day, professor Michel Bitbol spoke on what is Science and what is law of nature? He followed it with the introduction of Quantum Physics and its relevance to Madhyamaka (Middle way school) on the second day. He also covered topics about the similarities, differences and complementarities between science and Buddhism. On final the day, he spoke mainly about Immanuel Kant and Husserl, two popular western philosophers who approached scientific knowledge in a spirit that is congenial to Buddhism. Around thirty participants from Central Tibetan Administration, College for higher Tibetan Studies, Sarah, Science teachers from Tibetan Schools and students and staff of Library of Tibetan Works and Archives attended it. They definitely gained new perspectives and ideas on relation between Buddhism and Science.
