Administration
Like any registered establishments LTWA is also governed by a board which is its apex authority. The LTWA Governing Board is composed of nine members including three ex-officio members representing Ministry of Culture and Ministry of External Affairs of the government of India and Kalon (Minister) of Department of Religion & Culture of the Central Tibetan Administration. His Holiness the Dalai Lama remained as its Chairman till 2015 and now the Chief Patron. The remaining six members are appointed by the Board. The Board directs policy and provides advice and guidance towards overall development of the institute. The Administration Department is responsible for general management of the institute, personnel matters – both staff and students, fiscal, accounting and budgetary operations; security; computer and information services, printing and reproduction services, accommodation, building maintenance and construction etc. It also oversees and ensures implementation of projects and initiatives undertaken through its nine departments. The Department also coordinates with other LTWA departments and provides logistic support. It also directs and oversees organization of seminars, conferences, workshops and training, both international and local.
In its effort to share its academic and cultural activities the LTWA has signed Memorandums of Understanding with several national and international academic establishments over the years. The growth and diversification of the LTWA collections and its activities reflect the institute’s profound commitment to its aims and objectives.
